Folklore Tricksters

Lewis Hyde: "trickster is a boundary-crosser" (7). By that, he means that the trickster crosses both physical and social boundaries-- the trickster is often a traveller, and he often breaks societal rules. Tricksters cross lines, breaking or blurring connections and distinctions between "right and wrong, sacred and profane, clean and dirty, male and female, young and old, living and dead" (Hyde 7). --http://faculty.gvsu.edu/websterm/Tricksters.htm--

Button Mashing Time! Mortal Kombat!

Oh man, those sweet sweet days when your thumbs are raw and your eyes burn from staying up playing video games with your buddies. Oh, and I remember wanting badly to be Sonya and do her scissor kick move. also, those many bruises that occur when we would imitate fights with each other in the basement while our parents were gambling in the dining room...and yes, those bruises were bragged about later.

If you got time to waste, I recommend this...

and uh, some of this.

BLU...I DIG

I spent a lot of time gawking at his site that I drooled all over my keyboard.
Emily Delunas and I got to see this wall mural when we were on the tram in Berlin, Germany. There are so many wonderful graffiti in Berlin, especially around the Kreuzberg district. I think the more legal it is to graffiti, the better the graffiti. More time and thought can be spent on it.
